Nathan Pagels Awarded First Ellen Eisele Memorial Scholarship
Sturgis High School senior Nathan Pagals has been named the first recipient of the Ellen Eisele Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship from the Ellen Eisele Memorial Fund was established in 2020 in memory of Sturgis educator Ellen Eisele.
About the Award
Ellen Eisele came to Sturgis in 1990, having taught in Chicago, Flint, and Leslie before she settled here. A lifelong learner, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University in 1984, and in 2003, she earned a Masters degree from Western Michigan University in Mathematics Education.
In recognition of Ellen’s passion and commitment to teaching, the Ellen Eisele Memorial Fund will award support annually for a Sturgis High School senior pursuing a degree in Education.
